The December 2021/January 2022 edition of the London Drinker Magazine is out today and is the first printed issue distributed to pubs since the publication went online because of Government Covid-19 lockdown/restrictions. The current magazine and back issues can still be viewed at: Abercorn Arms (ex Youngs's pub) in Teddington opened on the 11th November 2021 as a Big Smoke independant beer house. Six handpumps serving cask beer and two Cider. A large range of keg beers also available. The Foxlow in Barley Mow Passage, Chiswick, reopened as Betty earlier this year. A bar/restaurant - no cask beer. The George in 32 King Street, Twickenham reopened early November. |

Big Smoke Brew Co. have taken over the Abercorn Arms (ex Youngs's pub) in Teddington and will be opening 11th November 2021. |

The Cricketers, The Green, Richmond, will be closing their doors from Monday 9th August 2021 for a refurbishment. The pub is expected to reopen on the 17th August. The Young's Pubco have recenly announced that they have agreed to sell 56 of its tenanted 63 pubs in its Ram Pub Company estate to the Punch Pubco for £53m. A number of these pubs to be sold to Punch lie within our Branch area, one of which has been confirmed as the RedCow in Richmond. |

Two planning applications have been noted: 1. Italian Job, Chiswick. Change of use of ground floor unit from a drinking establishment to a mixed use of a restaurant (likely to be a Thai) with takeaway. System Reference: P/2021/2644 (Hounslow council) 28-Jun-2021 - In progress. 2. The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham. Planning Application has been submitted (June 2021) for change use of part of pub to “Education F1.” Planning application number: 21/2370/FUL The Twickenham beer festival 2021 has been regrettably been cancelled due to the future uncertainty of the Covid situation. |

The Tree House at 73 White Hart Lane, Barnes The off-licence RealAle.com located on Richmond Road, Twickenham has undergone a brand evolution, and changed its name to Real Drinks. See their new website: www.realdrinks.co.uk The Tap room on the green has closed and the signs taken down. But new signage has gone up, it is now called The Green. The property is currently advertised by Sneller Commercial as 'Under Offer'. No further information as what it will become at present. |

The Revolution Bar at 4 Whittaker Avenue, Richmond, TW9 1EH, is to permanently close. Revolution Bars Group (RBG) has now confirmed the bar will not reopen citing the government's Covid-19 restrictions as the reason. The RBG have also stated that their landlord for the Richmond site has taken the opportunity to assign a new lease to another operator. See the news story in the Richmond & Twickenham Times |

After Covid-19 lockdown 2.0 our Branch area is now subject to further Government Tier restrictions and from 6th Jan, full Lockdown. This means that all our pubs are now closed, until the Government lift trading restrictions. |
